Application for certification, it’s registration

Applicant fills in application form before examination and hands in LNSASC, handing in following documents collateral:
 
  1. Person identification document’s (passport or birth certificate) copy;
  2. Copies of documents attesting education, qualification and work experience;
  3. Copy of definite example inquest of Prosperity minister about health situation for doable work;
  4. Copy of document about ending specialized professional training courses in sphere of dangerous machinery;
  5. Employers confirmation for taking part in dangerous machinery inspection, practical appraisal, results’ documenting and appraisal;
  6. Two photos;
  7. Applicant must hand in application and necessary documents for each area of dangerous devices separately.
 
Process of examination
Qualification exam contains of common examination, definite branch examination and specialization examination.
 
Common, definite branch and specialization examinations occur in written form, as a test. Theoretical knowledge testing occurs in special room in approved studying institution. Time of theoretical knowledge testing is 3 minutes for each test question. It is not allowed to use any supplementary aids during examination.
 
Common examination
*Applicant receives approved test questions for common examination, which are chosen in previously unknown way from common question register, exactly before theoretical examination starts in special room for theoretical examination.
*Common examination tests are the same for all dangerous devices areas and include 20 questions. Each test question has at least three possible answers but only one is right. Test is done if more than 70% of questions are answered correctly.
 
Definite branch examination
*Applicant receives approved test questions for definite branch examination, which are chosen in previously unknown way from common question register, exactly before theoretical examination starts in special room for theoretical examination.
*Content of definite branch examination depends of chose dangerous devices area and includes 20 questions. Each test question has at least three possible answers but only one is right. Test is done if more than 70% of questions are answered correctly.
 
Specialization examination
*Applicant receives approved test questions for specialization examination, which are chosen in previously unknown way from common question register, exactly before theoretical examination starts in special room for theoretical examination.
Specialization examination test depends of chose specialization in appropriate dangerous devices area and includes 10 questions for one specialization. Each test question has at least three possible answers but only one is right. Test is done if more than 70% of questions are answered correctly. In case of several specialization examination, result is judged for all specializations together but in each specialization result cannot be lower than 70/100. If base examination envelopes two or more dangerous devices specialization, number of questions is increased by 5, for each specialization till maximal number of 20.
 
  • two dangerous devices specialization – 15 questions (7+8 questions for appropriate specializations),
  • three dangerous devices specialization – 20 questions (7+7+6 questions for appropriate specializations).
 
Evaluation
Examination is done in common if more than 70% of questions are answered correctly in each separate examination. In case of several specializations examination result of each examination cannot be lower than 70/100.
 
Applicant failed in examination must wait at least 30 days to apply for repeated examination. Applicant which results were not approved because of cheating must wait at least a year to apply for repeated examination.
 
Applicant failed in examination with less than 70% of correct answers can take part only in the failed examination ensuring examination retaking during one year after failing.
 
Applicant failed in repeated branch or specialization examination must apply and pass examinations both in definite branch and specialization.
 
Applicant failed in common part examination three times must wait at least 90 days to apply for repeated examination as a new applicant, having before it extra studying courses according to approval studying programmes as written in normative documents.
 
Applicant failed in branch or specialization examination for three times must wait at least 90 days to apply for repeated examination as a new applicant. Before that he has to take part in an approved training programm.
 
Process of certification
LNSASC director forms certification commission of independent experts. Certification commission checks applied application, examination documents and examine applicant's conformity.
 
Applicant who passed the examination, receives competence certificate and using rules from LNSASC director during 10 working days after examination procedure.
 
Applicants failed in any examinations (common, branch or specialization) and/or did not do any of other certification requests gets refusal from LNSASC with mentioned reasons.
 
Personnel department director of LNSASC composes and improves certification personnel list for each personnel certification group separately. Register as well as information about cancelled certificates is published on the LNSASC website: www.lnsasc.lv.
 
Certificate’s terms of use are five years starting with issuing date written on certificate. Certificate is valid only in sphere and qualification mentioned on certificate.
 
Independent certification institution can prolong certificate’s terms of use for a new five year period after first term of use ends as well as after each ten years in cases if applicant matches following requests:
 
a) applicant issues definite example inquest of Prosperity minister about health situation for doable work;
 
b) applicant issues proves uninterrupted work without relevant stops in certificated sphere and specialization. Relevant stop is work interruption or passage to a new specialization if common time period is longer than one year;
 
c) applicant issues employer’s given characteristic about practical work in certification area and specialization.
 
If this prolonging requests are not executed applicant must repeatedly apply for certification procedure done as a first certification.
 

Expiry date can be prolonged only once. After this certification institution must realize repeated certification.
